Antequera

Alcazaba fortress with its 'Catholic' bell tower, overlooks the white-washed town of Antequera, which has an interesting mix of Roman and Muslim architecture and history,

The bell tower closeup.

Antequera seen from a distance with the town to the left of the fortress and beyond 'Montana del Indio' or aka 'lover rock' that reaches 880 metres.

The beautiful tower of the San Sebastian church emerges from the low white-washed buildings of the old town. There are many churches with interesting architecture. Below pigeons drink from a fountain outside another church.

Santa Maria la Mayor collegiate church seen the entrance archway.

Overview of this impressive but also fairly typical Andalusian town.
